Living Evangelization: Evangelization (bringing the good news) is the mission of the church. It is the reason that we do all the things that we do. It is the reason for the way that we do them. To lose sight of our mission is, for a parish, to become a social/cultural club, a business or a mere service organization. While these things are good in themselves, they fall far short of what Jesus calls us to do and to be. Evangelization is every Christian’s business. But “everybody’s business is nobody’s business.” It is essential that there be a coordinating committee for evangelization to animate and promote the evangelizing efforts of all parishioners and parish organizations. In short, evangelization must be a real part the everyday life of the parish or it remains a pipe dream. For evangelization to be a real part of the everyday life of the parish there needs to be an organization of parishioners responsible for it’s implementation. DMST will renew your existing Evangelization Coordinating Committee or establish and train one for your parish.
